Linda Huffman Obituary

Linda Lou Nichols Huffman, 76, of Teague, passed away May 4, 2016. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, May 8, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Teague with Rev. Scott Matthews officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m., Saturday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Linda was born in Teague, Texas on February 10, 1940 to John Fred and Mary Ellen Bass Nichols. She grew up in Teague and was a graduate of Teague High School Class of 1957. She returned to Teague, after 40 plus years of working in Houston for Champion Paper, Tenneco and as an Executive Assistant for El Paso Energy, where she retired.. Linda was a loving, unselfish and caring person who loved doing for people; she always put others first. She also loved animals and adopted every stray kitten that came around their home. Her hobbies consisted of playing bridge and working in the yard. Linda was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Teague. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Shirley Ruth Nichols and Jean Tisdale. Linda is survived by her husband, James Huffman of Teague; sisters, Mary Clark of Dallas, Sue Nichols of Teague and Jennifer Parson and husband, Bobby of Teague; brother, John Nichols; nieces and nephews, Al Clark, Kathy Fryar and husband, Leslie, Debbie Kilgore, Sonia Evans and husband, Dennis, Mary Sue Nichols, John Nichols, Jr., Terry Nichols and wife, Brandi, Gary Nichols, Lance Nichols, Tammy Montgomery and husband, Mike, Linda Jean Cheeney and husband, Warren, Jenny Sue Vincent and husband, Rich, Michael Huffman, Gene Huffman, John Huffman and wife, Wendy, Jerri Nell Courtney and husband, Connie, Sandy Lamb, Janet Dunn and husband, Kenneth, Howard Huffman, Cindy Davis, Belinda Gill and husband, David, David Huffman, Lance Plummer and wife, Karen, Melanie Johnson, Glenice Ashley and husband, Jimmy, Linda Lakenmacker and husband, Don, Vickie Brast and husband, Larry, Connie Sue Rhodes and husband, Dennis, Tina Farley and husband, Richard and Jennifer Huffman; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be John Huffman, Howard Huffman, Bobby J. Huffman, Charles Childs, Kenneth Dunn and Lance Nichols.
