Loda Bell Crutchfield passed away November 29, 2017, in Mexia, at the age of 95. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, December 2, 2017 in the Mexia Cemetery with Rev. Jenn Pick officiating. Visitation with the family will be prior to the service from 9-10:30 AM, Saturday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Loda Bell was born March 27, 1922 in Mexia, Texas to Marion and Honor Bell Ballard McFall. She worked as a PBX Operator for 20 years. Loda Bell married her lifelong partner, John Ross Crutchfield in Corsicana, Texas in 1941. They made their home Dallas, for several years, prior to moving to Mexia in 1969. Loda Bell also kept books for J.R.’s trucking business. She enjoyed cooking and attending church; she was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mexia. Loda Bell was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 66 years, J. R. Crutchfield; brothers, Wallace McFall, Robert McFall, Ballard McFall and James Raymond McFall; and sisters, Ellen Freeman and Hattie Pearl McFall. She is survived by nephews, Ronald Freeman, Randy McFall, Dennis McFall and Gaylon McFall; and niece, Glenda Phillips.
