Lorene Kay Banning, 61, passed away September 16, 2014 at her home in Mexia. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 20, 2014 in the Mexia Cemetery with Rev. Tom Prentiss officiating. Lorene was born January 1, 1953 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Harold and Lorene Lucille Graham Van Dyken. She moved to Mexia, several years ago, to take care of her mother. Lorene was a loving and caring mother and daughter. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Everett Liles; and brother, Ronald Van Dyken. Lorene is survived by her son, Jason Ryan Banning of Michigan; grandchildren, Stephanie Lynn Peterson, Samantha Banning Underwood, Cassandra Hallman, Neckose Alegria and Alicia Alegria; six great-grandchildren; and her dog and faithful companion, Coco.
