Mrs. Marie S. Conn, 93, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2011 in Groesbeck, Texas. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Mr. Derwood Kennedy officiating. Interment will be in the Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Conn was born January 5, 1918 in Shiloh to Andrew and Lillie Wells Shamblin. She was a lifelong resident of Limestone County and had worked at the Textile Mill in Mexia for many years. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Mexia. Mrs. Conn loved spending time with her family and quilting. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lonnie Conn; brothers, Jack Shamblin, Royce Shamblin and Troy Jones and sisters, Georgia Westmoreland, Iris Jackson and Mary Alice Carr. Survivors include her daughter, Maureen Rodriguez of Dallas; grandchildren, Valisa Corvison of Miami, Florida and Lynn Miles of Dallas, great-grandchildren, J. R. Corvison, Angela Luzardo, Tommy Lee Miles, Gabriel Miles and Sophia Miles; and siblings, Twin sister, Mildred Yielding of Tyler, Roy Jones of Dallas,and Margaret Miller of Mexia.
