Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Mel Bates Gregory, 79, of Houma, LA will be 10 a.m. Friday, November 2, 2007 at Church of Christ in Groesbeck . Richard Williams, pastor, will officiate with interment following in Cobb Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 5 - 7 p.m. Thursday night at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home in Mexia. Mrs. Gregory was born on February 6, 1928 in Thornton to Ira Ward and Velma Nona Clancy Bates and passed away in Kingwood hospital on October 30, 2007. She was a Homemaker, active member of Board of Directors of United Way and board member of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council, and member of Church of Christ. She is survived by her children, Sharon Gregory Hicks of Kingwood, Anita Gail Gregory Smith of Austin and Carrie Gregory Gaiennie and husband, George of Alexandria, LA., 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Haskell Gregory, siblings, Glenna Juanell Bates, Zelma Bates Cox and Margie Bates Nelson, sons, Michael Emerson Gregory, William David Gregory and Haskell Donald Gregory.
