Nancy Juliette (Alewine) Bradley passed away on September 12, 2017 at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in McKinney, Texas following a stroke, at the age of 87. Funeral services were held will be 10 AM. Friday, September 15, 2017 at Calvary Baptist Church with Reverend Shane Norcross and Reverend Rick Gray officiating. Interment will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery with Bill Groth, Tommy Vaughan, Bobby Jack Liles, Ray Erlinger, Jereme Joseph, and Richard Bundy serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be 5-7 PM, Thursday, September 14, 2017, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Juliette was born on July 30, 1930 in Freestone, Texas. She worked at Safeway for many years in the Meat Department, and retired when the Mexia store closed. She later retired from the Heart of Texas/Blackland Community Group Homes in 1999. Juliette was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church where she served during the years as a Sunday School teacher, choir member, Vacation Bible School worker, and prayer warrior. She lived many years in the Shiloh Community where she was active in the Shiloh Baptist Church. Juliette loved the Lord, and began each day with reading her Bible and praying. Juliette was a cheerful giver and supported many ministries that were a blessing to her. Juliette was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an excellent cook, and loved to bake pies and cakes and share them with friends and family. Juliette enjoyed sewing, and made numerous Cathedral Window quilts. Family and friends were very important to her, and she loved spending time with them. She is preceded in death by her parents, Marion Riley and Arniel (Samford) Alewine of Mexia; and siblings, Nola Scott, Oda Herring, Bertha Brown, Effie Robinson, Dessie Carter, Jimmie Taylor, Adrain Alewine, Emery Alewine, Wilmer Alewine, and Charles Alewine. She is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Ashley and husband, Harlan of Copeville, Nancy Bundy and husband, Dennis of Mexia; grandchildren, Gwenn Erlinger and husband, Ray of Frisco, Monica Joseph and husband, Jereme of Argyle, Richard Bundy of Dallas, Ray Ashley of Farmersville, Chad Ashley and wife, Tonya of Savoy, and Brian Ashley of Rowlett; great-grandchildren, Rileigh Marsh, Rachel Erlinger, Bridgette Joseph, Brian Joseph, Lauren Hoodenpyle, Ben Ashley, Nathan Ashley, Leslie Ashley, Landon Ashley, Kayley Ashley, Brendan Ashley and Brody Ashley; four great-great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Ray Taylor; sister-in-law, Ollidene Alewine; and numerous nieces and nephews.
