Ocie Geneva Morgan Obituary

Ocie Geneva Morgan, 91, of Prairie Grove, passed away December 4, 2015 in Waco, Texas. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 7, 2015 at Prairie Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Clifton Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the Prairie Grove Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be prior to the service beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Monday.

Geneva was born June 4, 1924 to George Conard and Leona Elizabeth Grizzle Nichols. She was a homemaker who was dedicated to being a loving wife, mother and a “doting” grandmother. Geneva lived her life according to her strong faith in God and His commandments. She loved people of all ages but had a special love for children. She treated everyone with the utmost respect; no one could ask for a better friend than Geneva.

Geneva was a longtime active member of the Prairie Grove Baptist Church; working in Vacation Bible School, every year, was very special to her. She was a past member of the Groesbeck Eastern Star. She was a wonderful cook who enjoyed raising vegetables and canning them. She also like to raise flowers in the yard as well as in the house and seem to have a green thumb, she could grow things that others felt needed to be thrown away. Geneva really enjoyed weed eating, something her children just could not understand.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wade Morgan; daughter, Tommie Leona; brothers, Lawson and Robert Nichols; and sisters, Anna Mae Wittner and Edith Ingram.

Geneva is survived by two daughters, Susie Seals and husband, Dan of Prairie Grove and Mary McFerrin of Shiloh; grandchildren, Laura Taylor and husband, Bill, Paul Eric Hernandez and wife, Wendy, Amanda Gonzales, Rene Cross and husband, Gary; great-grandchildren, Nathan Cross, Morgan Flannery, Will Taylor, Christopher Hernandez, Kasity Hernandez and Gavin Wade Hernandez; great-great-grandson, Wesley Wade McKeand; sister-in-law, Dorothy Nichols of Mesquite; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Gary Cross, Paul Eric Hernandez, Butch Nichols, Nick Nichols, Bill Taylor and Ronnie Ferguson.

Geneva's family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the Groesbeck LTC for their loving care.

Memorials may be made to Prairie Grove Baptist Church.
