Perry David Waddel, 77, of Mexia passed away April 15, 2010 at the Manor Nursing Facilities in Mexia. A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Northcrest Church of Christ on Highway 171 in Mexia at 6 PM. Perry was born in Dallas, Texas on November 20, 1932 to William Frances and Myrtle (Birdie) Inez Waddel. He was a member of Northcrest Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Stanley (Buster), Allen, J. W. and Manuel Waddel; and two sisters, Lola (Dutch) Hitchcock and Katherine Beard Dollison. Perry is survived by a daughter, Francis Irvin of Dallas; granddaughter, Lisa Witherspoon of Garland; great-grandson, Matthew Witherspoon of Washington; sister, Inez Marie Waddel of Dallas; special nieces, Jodell (Jody) Burke and Norma Porter of Mexia; best friend, Louis Price, Sr. of Mexia; Northcrest Church of Christ family in Mexia; and many nieces and nephews.
