Retha Henry

Retha L. Henry went to meet her Heavenly Father on June 15, 2010. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 18, 2010 at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Fulton officiating and Rev. Gaylan Henry assisting. Burial will be in the Lost Prairie Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Mrs. Henry was born May 6, 1921 in Purdon, Texas to James Holland and Sally Mae (Blakley) Killingsworth. She retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company after 12 years as an operator , 12 years as a supervisor and the last year in management. Mrs. Henry loved her Church and Sunday School. She and her late, husband, J. R. Henry were member of the Lost Prairie Baptist Church when Rev. Jerry Fulton was Pastor there. Later, she moved to Mexia and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and was in the Sunday School Class that Mrs. Betty Allen and Mrs. Doris Pope taught. Mrs. Henry was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother; three sisters; two nieces; and two nephews. Surviving Mrs. Henry is two step-daughters, Mrs. Darlene Strickland and husband, Curtis and Mrs. Gloria Gunter and husband, Benjamin; several step-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy McKee Roberts; and her nieces and nephews, who were very special to her. Pallbearers will be Melvin Henry, David Henry, Darren Henry, Chris Henry, Darius Farmer and Casey Bostain.
