Timmie Edward “Tim” Gremminger, 64, of Mexia passed away September 8, 2012 in Temple, Texas. Funeral services will be 2PM Monday, September 10, 2012 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Pastor Gil Ash officiating. Tim was born January 16, 1948 in Canton, Ohio to Arthur Gremminger, Jr. and Bernice Von Guten Gremminger. He had been a resident of the Mexia area for 30 years. He retired from Miller Distribution after 27 years as warehouse manager. Tim married Freda “Cookie” Alexander on May 28, 1984 in Mexia. He served his country in the U.S. Army 82nd Air Borne during the Vietnam War. While serving, he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal and the Purple Heart. Tim never met a stranger. He was a very devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Art Gremminger, III. Tim is survived by his wife, Cookie of Mexia; daughters, Stacye Smith and husband, Kenny and Terrie Olson and husband, Mark; son, Carl Young; grandchildren, Spencer and Shelby Wright, Kimberly Summers, Brandon and Chelsea Smith, Crystal and Michelle Olson, Stephen, Meagan and McKenzie Young; great-grandchildren, Rylee Summers, Raimi Molina, Mackenzie Olson and Kaden Cain; sister, Sue C. Smith; brother, Gary Gremminger and wife, Twi’lla; sister-in-laws, Wanda Gremminger, Patsy Copeland and Sandra Ingram; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved pets, June Bug and Rusty. Pallbearers will be Gary Gremminger, Stephen Young, Carl Young, Spencer Wright, Kenny Smith and Alan Ingram.
