Tracy Moore

Tracy E. Moore, 89, of Teague, passed away January 13, 2014 in Teague. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel in Mexia with Rev. Bart Herrington officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery in Teague. Visitation with the family will be 4-6 p.m., Tuesday at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Tracy was born September 29, 1924 in Shanks (Freestone County), Texas to William Tracy and Beulah Whatley Moore. He received his high school diploma after enlisting and serving in the U.S. Army. After he was discharged from the service, Tracy married Rose Miller on April 2, 1946. Tracy retired from the railroad after 37 plus years as an engineer. He received his 65 year pin from the Masonic Lodge of Cotton Gin and was an active member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church, where he had many friends. Before and after retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his wife and camper. It was during this time that he taught his grandchildren how to fish as well as other outdoor life experiences. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cheryl Morris; two brothers; and two sisters. Tracy is survived by his wife, Rose Moore of Teague; daughter, Charlotte Ereckson and husband, Lanny of Allen; five grandchildren, Christopher Morris, Danielle Hall and husband, Robert, Spencer Morris, Jory Ereckson and wife, Madelyn and Lana Fulkerson and husband, Chuck; six great-grandchildren, Cierra Morris, Bobby Hall, Hannah and Hayden Fulkerson and Mia and Cade Ereckson; sister, Dot Fitzgerald and husband, J.W. of Teague; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Pallbearers will be Robert Hall, Spencer Morris, Chris Morris, Jory Ereckson, Chuck Fulkerson, John Ray Moore, Michael Miller and Lanny Ereckson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jay Faine Bodine, F. E. Jones, W. C. Barger, Rayford Barger, Dewayne Manning, Glen Barger, Ed Sembera, Larry McKinney, David Whitten, Carl Whitten, Bill Stallings, Billy Eubanks, J. W. Fitzgerald and Harrol Dickson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to your charity of choice.
