Services for W. Stanley Foster,89, of Lubbock will be 10:30 AM, Friday, October 2, 2009 at the First Christian Church-Hodges Chapel with Dr. Michael Passmore officiating. Graveside services will be at 10:30 AM, Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009 in the Point Enterprise cemetery in Mexia, TX. Mr. Foster passed away on September 29, 2009. Wendell Stanley Foster was born March 23, 1920 in Montauge County, Texas to Thomas and Zula Foster. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II. He married Doris Anette Gardner June 20, 1948 in Mexia, Texas. She preceded him in death on March 29, 2001. He worked for many years in the automobile business. Stanley was a member of the First Christian Chruch since 1969 where he served as an elder. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for over sixty years. Survivors include brother, James Foster and wife Joyce of Llano, brother, Tom Foster and wife Jimmie Sue of Georgetown, sister, Charline Smith of San Antonio, Brother, Wayman Tipton and wife Beverly of Nocona, Sister, Louise Eidson of Phoenix, AZ, brother-in-law, Jerry Gardner and wife Bess of Farmers Branch and several nieces and nephews. Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church of Lubbock.
