Wanda Dolson Gantt went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 22, 2014. By her bedside for her journey were her niece and best friend, Diane McCeig along with her "borrowed" loving daughters, Lori McCeig and Leisha Beamer. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Rev. Rick Gray officiating. Interment will follow in the New Hope Cemetery near Farrar. Visitation with the family will be 5-7 p.m., Saturday at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Don Landry and Raymond Gantt; two brothers, Marvin Dolson and Robert Dolson; two sisters, Ruth Hester and Dorthey Bradick; and special great nephew, Curtis McCeig. Wanda leaves to cherish her memory, Diane McCeig of Mexia, Melba Luster of Hearne, Cora Byrd of Beaumont, Lori McCeig of Mexia, Leisha Beamer of Marquez, Ricky McCeig of Hutchinson, KS, Christy McCeig of Mexia, Ashley Lerna of Mexia, Raven Kirkland of Forney, Michael Wake of Dallas, Taryn Ward of Carrollton, Scott Ward of Gilmer, Trista Garbelli of Youngstown, NY, Matthew Byrd of Ft. Worth, Leslie Waldock of Rosebud, Tracy Puente of Washington, Robbie McMinn of Clanton, AL, Nikki Smith of Brenham, Dawn Lehaski of Uvalde, Carol Graham of Mesquite, Joan King of Romana, CA, Ester Mair of Chula Vista, CA and Pamela Bensoussan of Chula Vista, CA. Wanda was born April 4, 1939 in Buffalo, Texas to Elzy Coleman and Mary Magdalene Rippy Dolson. She retired from Texaco after serving as a secretary for 20 years. Wanda was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church and a firm believer of the tithe system. Wanda loved sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Longhorns. She was a great lover of books, “non-fiction”, and loved to travel. Wanda was a supporter of many charities. She was a member of DAR, the American Legion Auxiliary, Eastern Star and Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. Wanda was a true “Diva” with a unique wit and will be greatly missed. Pallbearers will be Jess Whisler, John Jones, Bobby Jack Liles, Tink Easterling, Randy Teel and Jack Lewis.
