Funeral services for Mr. Welbert A. Carter, 76, of Thornton will be 11 AM Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009 in the Blair-Stubbs Chapel in Thornton. Burial will follow in the Ferguson cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5 to 7 PM Monday in Thornton. Mr. Carter was born Sept. 8, 1932 in Big Hill and passed away Feb. 21, 2009 in Marlin. He retired from the V. A. Hospital in Marlin. Survivors include his wife, Patsy Murray Carter of Thornton, son, Steve Carter of Thornton, 2 grandchildren, Christopher Carter and Courtney Davis and 2 great grandchildren, McKensie and Jeremiah Davis. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Edna Carter of Merit, TX. Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his parents, John M. and Lillie Hensley Carter, his son, Jon Carter, four sisters and five brothers.Obituary
