William Samuel "Sam" Story, 98, left his earthly home for his home in Heaven on June 11, 2009 in Waco, Tx. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel in Mexia with Rev. James Hooper officiating. Interment will be in the New Hope Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 10 - 11 a.m. on Tuesday. Sam was born November 28, 1910 in Jewett, Tx. to Ollie C. and Cora P. Allison Story. He served his country in the U. S. Air Force during World War II. He was a wonderful man and was loved by everyone who knew him. Sam had a zest for life, and God blessed him with almost 99 years. He was an accountant for Houston Power & Light for 45 years. After retirement, he worked for Mr. Bud Odom for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Julie Story; two brothers, Alvis O. (Bill) Story and Rasco R. Story; one sister, Lula Belle Rowan; niece, Elizabeth Katherine Edwards; and dogs, Oliver and Olivia. Sam is survived by his adopted daughter, Linda Johnson and husband, Bill of Waco; sister, Lola Mae Miller; one niece and two nephews. The family would like to express their special thanks to Bluebonnet Hospice for the wonderful care given during his illness.
