Willie Kate Wilburn, 97, passed away January 16, 2011 in Fairfield, Texas. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Brother Richard Mooney officiating. Interment will be in Lost Prairie Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time, at the funeral home. Kate was born January 13, 1914 in Personville, Texas to John and Minnie (Sims) Webb. She moved to Mexia in 1992. She was a homemaker and retiree of Aldine School Food Service. Kate loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed reading, playing dominos and forty-two. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. Kate was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, G. W. "Bogue" Wilburn; daughter, Joyce Huffman; grandson, Gary Wilburn; and sister, Neta Henry. Kate is survived by two sons, Garlyn W. Wilburn and wife, Vicki of Waco and Harlyn W. Wilburn and wife, Carolyn of Spring; one daughter, Judy Mooney and husband, Richard of Troup; son-in-law, J. C. Huffman of Mexia; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Stancil Webb of Cedar Park. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
