Jimmy Don Hargis, 56, of Whiteface passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2013 in a Lubbock care center. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at Whiteface Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home in Morton. Jimmy was born on July 1, 1956 to Billy James and Patsy A. (Wilson) Hargis in Morton, Texas. He married Kathy Warton on April 12, 1982 in Muleshoe. He served his county in the United States Army and upon returning to Whiteface, he worked for the City of Morton, the City of Whiteface and was a volunteer firefighter for the Whiteface Volunteer Fire Department were he enjoyed serving the most until he retired. He lived in the Morton and Whiteface community his entire life. Jimmy is preceded in death by his wife, parents, and a brother, Robert Hargis. Survivors include his daughters, Alisha Mendoza and her husband Ricky of Lubbock; and Sheena Hargis of Whiteface; sister, Theresa Morgan and her husband Camron of Lubbock; and three grandchildren. The family request in lieu flowers, please make donations the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, 3513 10th Street, Lubbock, Texas 79415 and the Whiteface Volunteer Fire Department, 105 W. 2nd. Street, Whiteface, Texas 79379.
