Debbie Sue Tharp, 53, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2020 in Pasadena, Texas. She was born March 8, 1967 to Paris and Ellena Tharp in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Debbie graduated from Sam Rayburn High School in 1986. She made lasting impressions on many and was loved by all. She knew how to live in the moment, how to be present, and knew how important it was to capture life’s littlest moments. Debbie showed overwhelming love and appreciation to the people involved in her life. She made sure people knew they were cared for and never hesitated to help those in need. She loved her church, loved people, loved life, and always had a smile on her face. Debbie loved her mother and her brother, Joey, dearly. Her love for Brother Jim was unconditional. Brother Jim said when she got to Heaven, her crown would be so heavy she would barely be able to wear it! Brother John only knew Debbie for 6 months, but said he felt he had known her all her life. Debbie loved every pastor at South Avenue Baptist Church. Her 23 years of perfect Sunday School attendance showed her gratitude toward the Lord and the church body, not an accomplishment made by many. The love she had for Abbey was a sister-love and could not be broken. She helped her mother clean houses and take care of the elderly. She was happy to spend her last days at home with her mom. Debbie Tharp is survived by her mother, Ellena Tharp; her brother Joey Tharp; uncle Ketron Couch; and cousins Danny Chandler and Missy and Vicki Couch. She was predeceased by her father, Paris Tharp. Debbie’s loving spirit and constant smile will be greatly missed.
