Jay Dee Cox, 61 of Baytown, TX went home to be with the Lord on Thursday June 27, 2019 at 6:45pm surrounded by his family. He was born November 6, 1957 in Pontiac, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his mother Betty Mayhew her husband E.J., half-brother Duane Barnes, half-sister Amy Tate, Brother-in-law Steve Fontenot, and his fur baby Rosie. He leaves behind his wife of 44 years, Debora L. Cox; his daughter Stacy Evans and husband Barry; youngest daughter Kimberly Rice, husband Chris and his grandchildren Hayden and Addison. Sisters; Chris Fontenot and husband Terry O’neill; Cindy Cox Soape; Beth Ray and husband Steve, Sally Bemount and husband Larry, half-brothers John Cox and his wife Lesley and Earle Cox all in Illinois. He also leaves behind many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Jay was a wonderful husband, father, brother and friend. He loved to tell stories and make people laugh even until the end. He worked 32 years in plastic manufacturing and loved what he did. He was a huge fan of Nascar and never missed a race. He was loved by his family and he will be dearly missed by everyone that knew him.
