John Cantu

John Gilbert Cantu was born August 16, 1929 in Houston Texas. He married Norma Jean Cantu on May 10, 1957. They were married 50 years. He is preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean Cantu and his son Johnny Cantu. He is survived by his children, Eddie And Julie Cantu, Michael Cantu, JoAnn Cantu, Melissa and Jeff Tillman. His grandchildren included Danny Cantu, Andy Cantu, Shannon Dinet, John Gilbert Cantu, Howard Cantu, Tiffany Houston, Christopher Houston, Candice McMillin and Jordan McMillin. He had ten great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his sister Connie Candelas. He has a sister Ruthie Cervantes and a brother, Dickie Cantu. He had numerous nieces and nephews. He served his country in the Navy on a submarine. He grew up in Austin, Texas and lived there until 1968 when he moved his family to Pasadena. He worked in outside sales in Houston for more than thirty years. After retiring he worked part time for Charlie Thomas automobile dealership. His faith was Catholic and he knew his Lord and Savior. He was a great Dad, awesome brother and a loving grandfather. He loved automobiles and the Cadillac was his very favorite. He had many of them in his lifetime.
