Port Lavaca---Edgar “Eddie” Buehring, 78, of Port Lavaca, a beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather and great grandfather who passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2017. Eddie was born in Fashing, Texas on December 13, 1938. He was preceded in death by his parents Edgar Henry and Anita Sain Buehring. Eddie started working for Marshall Lumber Company at an early age and worked there for over 30 years and then own and operated Action Lumber Company since 1987. He was a gifted man of many talents, especially with his hands. Eddie was a member of the Port Lavaca Volunteer Fire Department and received the Fireman of the Year Award. He was also a member of the Port Lavaca Pearl Boys Chili Cookoff team, who won many awards. He refereed high school football for 38 years and was a baseball umpire for 15 years. Eddie supported all of Calhoun County Youth programs. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Dorothy Buehring; sons Dennis Buehring and wife Cathy, Eddie Dwayne Buehring, Shawn Buehring and wife Lori and Billy Ray Wilson and wife Monica; sisters Barbara Pawelek and husband Fabian, Shirley Dionne and husband Ron and Janice Bordovsky and husband Clarence; brothers Velmon Buehring and wife Peggy, Jimmy Buehring and companion Melissa and Shelby Buehring and wife Lynn; grandchildren Heather, Chris, Jordan, Joel, Travis, Bryan, Zachary, Brianna and Tea; great grandchildren Jenna, Charlotte, Ashlyn, Savannah, Hayden, Lila and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. A visitation for Eddie will be on Friday, January 13, 2017 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Grace Funeral Chapel in Port Lavaca, where funeral services will start at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Dan Zellmer officiating. Interment will follow in Green Lawn Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Bordovsky, Steven Bordovsky, Randy Pawelek, Francis Pawelek, Joel Lopez and Don Roy Yanta. Honorary pallbearers will be John Bellah, Willie Beck, Jim Treybig, Calvin Anderle, Dennis Harvey, Johnny Fricke, Miles Parker and friends of Action Lumber.
