FRANCISCO M. LARA, SR. MCALLEN – Francisco M. Lara, Sr., 89, went home to the Lord Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at his residence in McAllen. Born in Dr. Arroyo, N.L., MX, Francisco lived in McAllen for most of his life. He is preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca S. Lara; a son, Francisco Lara, Jr.; three brothers, Leonardo Lara, Ramon Lara, Casimiro Lara; two sisters, Lila Mata, Maria Lara; and two brothers-in-law, Salvador Mata and Manuel Mata. Francisco is survived by seven children, Belinda (Marce) Elizalde, Felix (Nora) Lara, both of Alamo, Fernando (Melissa) Lara of Houston, Fidencio (Martha) Lara of Dallas, Fidel (Deborah) Lara, Fabian (Hilda) Lara, Fermin (Araceli) Lara, all of McAllen; 19 Grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Melinda Lara of San Juan; two sisters, Juanita (Alonso) Briones of McAllen, Rosa Mata of Edinburg; a brother, Abdon (Romana) Lara of Mission; and a sister-in-law, Eloisa Lara of California. Graveside service will take place at 1 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2021, at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
