Arlene Dolores Spivey 84 of Waco, TX passed away April 23, 2017 surrounded by her family that she loved so much. A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 28, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, 3124 Robinson Drive, Waco. Arlene married the love of her life J.E. "Cotton" Spivey on September 27, 1949 and raised four children here in Texas. She had a 25 year career in food service management and enjoyed playing Bingo, going to a casino, watching the boats going up and down the river and the park ranger ride on horseback through the park all from her patio doors. Arlene was a strong and loving Mom and Grammy; she taught those traits to us as well as many others. You also knew that if you asked her what she thought, that is exactly what she would tell you; so if you didn't want to really know - don't ask. In heaven she has joined her husband Cotton, her son James, her parents, brother and other family and friends. She leaves behind her daughters Jean Packer, Janet Taylor, son Jay Spivey, grandsons Michael Packer, James Spivey, granddaughter Jodie Spivey and 11 great- grandchildren. We all love you and will all miss your sweet smile and wonderful hugs but know that we will be united again someday - Until we meet again.....
