Olga Matthews Waxahachie, Texas Obituary

Olga Matthews

Olga Matthews, beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend passed away peacefully at her home in Waxahachie December 8, 2019. God wanted her so much he sent His Angels to carry her home. Olga was born August 18, 1961 to Savina Soto and Jose L. Soto in El Paso, TX. She grew up Odessa, TX and graduated from Odessa High School. In her early 20’s she moved to Arlington/Ft. Worth Texas with her beloved husband Hiram. Olga had a great love for children. She was a teaching assistant for over 20 years working with Special Needs and Bilingual students in both high school and elementary levels. Her final career was with Angels of Faith Academy as a daycare assistant where she enjoyed watching over all the babies in the nursery as if each one of them was her own. She was an active member of The Oaks Church in Red Oak. She loved her small church group and continued fellowship with the Pastor and church members of Calvary Chapel in Burleson, TX. As Christians we can say, “I will truly live in heaven forever.” Olga will unite with her loved ones in heaven – her mother Savina; grandmother Julia Perez and her father Vance Harris. What joy to know that Olga will be in a beautiful, peaceful place where there will be no more tears, no more pain or dying and she will live in the actual presence of our Father God. Olga’s signature gift of joy and great faith in the Lord showed through her contagious smiles and laughter, sweet and simple demeanor and a quiet sense of humor that will never be forgotten. Olga is survived by her husband who was the love of her life for 39 years, Hiram Matthews of Waxahachie; mother Tomie Harris and brother Julian Harris both of College Station, TX; three sisters, Elizabeth Ortiz and husband Rudy of El Paso, TX, Irma Moisan and husband Bob of Jacksonville, FL and her youngest sister Cynthia Johnson and husband Tim of College Station, TX; nephews, Niles Johnson and Andy Moisan; nieces Morgan Hohrine, Chelsea Johnson, Raven Aultman and Toni Marie and Cierra Moisan. Viewing services are scheduled for 6PM to 8PM Wednesday, December 11, 2019 in the chapel of Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Davis from the Calvary Chapel in Burleson officiating. Funeral services are scheduled for 10AM Thursday, December 12, 2019 at the Oaks Fellowship in Red Oak with Pastor Brian Galbraith officiating. Interment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rudy Ortiz, Julian Harris, Johnny Pineda, Van Franks, Matt Vasquez and Cesar Garza. The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, fellowship and support that was given in many forms too many to name. A special “Thank You’ to Pastor Brian Galbraith and Pastor Ken Davis whose visits with Olga gave her great comfort and peace by sharing all of the Lord’s promises on earth and in Heaven, her loving church group whom when she felt weak, they were her strength and her courage and to many other wonderful friends who added joy to her final months. <iframe id="tukios_player_512x330" allowfullscreen="true" allowtransparency="true" allow="autoplay; fullscreen" frameborder="0" height="330" scrolling="no" src="https://www.tributeslides.com/videos/embedded_video/897STLZFHR7LK96Y" width="512"></iframe>
