Priscilla Kelley

On May 18, 2017, at the age of 82, Priscilla passed away suddenly while doing what she loved, riding her horse, Baron. Priscilla was born to Warren Guyette and Mariette (Breault) Guyette in Troy, VT, on July 7, 1934. She always enjoyed learning and teaching. She was a lifelong educator. In Vermont, she taught kindergarten for many years, providing pre-school services for Underhill and Jericho. She taught special education at Mount Mansfield UHS and at H.O. Wheeler in Burlington. After moving to Florida, she taught at The Quest in Ft. Lauderdale. In retirement, she volunteered for the Literacy Council of Marion County, FL, teaching reading to non-traditional students. Priscilla was a devoted member of horse clubs and participated in many equine activities throughout her life. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Douglas Kelley. She is survived by daughters, Judy (Wayne) Stimpson of Clermont, FL and Lois (Mark) Lavoie of Williston, VT; son, Mark (Anne-Marie) Kelley of Marlborough, MA; six grandchildren, Nicole Russell, Jonathan Stimpson, Alexander Stimpson, Joseph Lavoie, Erin Kelley and Corinne Kelley; three great grandchildren; two brothers, Maxime (Janice) Guyette and Charles Guyette; sister, Prudence (Seyran) Topuzoglu and too many other friends and family to count. A mass was offered in her memory at Christ the King Catholic Church in Citra, FL on Wednesday, May 24. Priscilla will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at the Underhill Cemetery in Underhill Flats, VT at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Marion County Literacy Council at 120 SW 5th Street, Ocala, FL 34471.
