Cecile Daignault Fairfax, Vermont Obituary

Cecile Daignault

Cecile “Pet” Dubois Daignault, 76, a lifelong resident of Swanton passed away at home on August 11,2020. She was born in Vergennes, VT on December 20, 1943 and was the daughter of the late Ray and Bernadette Dubois. Pet had a huge personality and was known to live life on her own terms. She had many friends and everyone that knew her had a story, or many, to share of her adventures. She was the kind of person that you could share your personal stories and she kept your confidence. She had a heart that was bigger than her own small stature and frame. Pet was an avid knitter, one who was known for completing and tearing apart as many projects as she completed. It became quite a joke between her family and friends. Her husband frequently asked her, “So babe, just how many knots have you made thus far in your life?” Pet leaves behind her sons Kevin Daignault and Kris Daignault, both of Swanton, VT;, sisters, Irene Dixon and her husband Ed of Swanton, Lucile (Tupie) Bernadet of South Burlington, VT, many nieces and nephews, and several special cousins. She had special friendships with Lesley Fisher, Donna Brooks, Joan Luce, Joyce Berger, Mary Hanson and John Flood. Those friends brought out Pet’s best humor, ask them to share just one funny story with you. Pet was predeceased by her husband Roderick (Rad) Daignault, her parents Ray and Bernadette Dubois, brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Sally Dubois, and her brother-in-law Guy Bernadet. We would like to say a special Thank You to the Franklin County Home Health and Hospice team. We would have never been able to do what we did for three years without their compassion, support and exceptional care. Nicky Ward, Hannah Constanty, Sophia Greenia and Sheree Martel, you are rock stars, she loved you very much. We also had the support of so many friends during this time, they were the glue that helped bind this working machine. At Pet’s request there will be no public calling hours and funeral services and Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in Pet’s memory may be made to Franklin County Home Health Agency, 3 Home Health Circle, St. Albans, VT 05478.
