Chalres Aime Tetreault

Charles "Charlie" Aime Tetreault, 91, of Newport City, Vermont passed away on November 16, 2020 in Newport. He was born on September 11, 1929 in Newport, Vermont to Thomas and Laurette (Bouthellier) Tetreault. Other than a few years living in Bristol, CT his life was spent in Newport, Vermont growing up with six younger siblings and raising five children with his first wife. At age 17 he entered the Navy and served as a radio operator for a few years. In the 1950s he was a machinist with the Fafnir Bearings in CT. The majority of his career was employed by the State of Vermont, Department of Labor & Industry as Apprenticeship Supervisor. His hobbies included hunting and time spent at camp in Lewis, VT built with his brothers in 1968, fly fishing nearby lakes and streams around Newport, and photography to include owning his own dark room and coloring beautiful black and white prints before color photography was available. In later years he further enjoyed the "new" world of digital photography even with the challenges vision brought on by macular degeneration - a testament to his joy of living life to the fullest. He is survived by his wife Linda Tetreault of Newport, Vermont, his children from previous marriage: Patricia Laber, Susan Keysar, Thomas Tetreault, Margaret Derick, and Richard Tetreault and twelve grandchildren. As well as his brothers Thomas, George, and John and Sister Marie. He is also survived by his brother and sister in-laws, many cousins, nieces and nephews, and an abundance of friends. He is pre-deceased by brother Joseph and sister Marguerite and mother of his children Georgette (Les ard) Tetreault. A special thank you to the staff on the third floor of North Country Hospital for their can and compassion. When it's safe to gather, a private celebration of life will be held on a future date.
