Charlotte Flora McNall Obituary

Charlotte Flora Parris McNall made her heavenly passage on Wednesday, May 13, 2020. Charlotte was born May 26, 1922 to Delphine Gregory Parris and Glen Parris in the town of Fairfax, Vermont. She was the youngest of four children; Elizabeth, Jenny, John and Charlotte. She spent her entire life bridging the communities of Fairfax and Westord, Vermont. She leaves three children. Dick and his wife, Linda (Howard) of Fairfax, Bruce of Savannah, Georgia, and, June and her husband, Sandy, of Essex. Charlotte married her sweetheart, Winfred McNall in 1940 and they had nearly 60 years together before he passed in 2000. Besides her children, she leaves four living grandchildren. Matt (Beth) and Bryce (Amy) McNall of Fairfax, Glen Packard of Fletcher and Owen Packard, most recently of Sierraville, Ca., She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Karen, in 2020. She loved her Great Grands. Ryan, Tyler, Evan and Macy McNall, Ethan McNall, McKenna and Hayden McNall and Adam, Jack and Sam Packard. Charlotte was a farmer’s wife and loving mother. She married soon after graduating BFA, Fairfax, in 1940. She devoted her time to caring for her family, farmhouse and community. She was an active member of the United Church of Fairfax, choir and congregation, and Ladies Aid Society. Over the years she was active in the library association, Fairfax Historical Society and the Plains Cemetery Association. She was faithful to her church and community. Charlotte had a wide and wonderful group of friends. In later years, her friends continued to support and care for her, allowing her to stay at home as she aged. Special blessings to Barbara Audet who became Charlotte’s “other” daughter. Barb offered continued love and care for Charlotte all the while playing endless games of cards! There are so many parts of the community to thank for supporting Charlotte. She found friendships at ’15 Old Academy Rd’; Dee, Jill, Pat, Denise, and all who met her in the hallway. In her church; Reverend Elizabeth and Reverend Katherine and all who worshiped. The Bellows Family; Louise Counis and Patti Bellows Smith and her extended family. Finally, the entire McNall Clan! Charlotte’s last two years were spent, at her request, at Holiday House in St. Albans. She received amazing care and built some strong supportive friendships. A huge and special thank you to the staff at Holiday House and to Bayada Hospice care. Charlotte loved deeply, cared greatly, laughed often, and hugged frequently! She loved hugs and kisses. Words and thoughts that come to mind when we think of Charlotte might be doughnuts, red high heels, maple pie, lawn mowing gramma, chicken pie supper, dancing to Sterling Weeds Imperial Orchestra, and, her faith. Charlotte was a wealth of information about the surrounding communities. She remained keen to the last and was always willing to share history of people and places in Fairfax. There will be no calling or funeral service at this time. A gathering will follow at a later date. The family wishes to continue to be mindful of the health of our community. For those wishing to make a difference in the lives of others on behalf of Charlotte, please pick a local organization and donate in her name. Other choices dear to Charlotte would be the Fairfax United Church, Fairfax Plains Cemetery Association, Fairfax Historical Society. and Fairfax Fire and Rescue. Prayers for PEACE from Charlotte.
