Colin Robinson Fairfax, Vermont Obituary

Colin Robinson

Colin Jeffrey Robinson, 15 months, passed away in the arms of his Dad and Mom at the Vermont Children’s Hospital at Fletcher Allen Health Care following a long illness on Wednesday, January 12, 2011. He was born on September 18, 2009 in Burlington, VT, son of Keith and Elizabeth (Firlik) Robinson. Throughout his too short life, Colin fought courageously through his illness with his sunny temperament and sweetness radiating to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He loved the outdoors, taking long walks with Mama, watching baseball games with Grandpa and Grandma, apple picking, swimming, and hiking Mt. Mansfield with his parents and brother. He loved and found comfort in music of all forms, from the skilled voice of his Papa to his big brother Christopher singing “Simple Gifts”. Colin's life can be measured not by time, but by the boundless love he had and shared. In spite of the limitations of his body, Colin's courageous, joyful spirit inspired everyone who met him to enjoy life and the time spent with loved ones and friends. His beautiful smile and exuberant laugh are forever present in his family's hearts. Colin was also blessed to have a number of great and compassionate caregivers at Vermont Children's Hospital, Essex Pediatrics, Visiting Nurses Association, and St. Michael's Rescue. He is survived by his parents Keith and Elizabeth (Firlik) Robinson and adoring brother Christopher of Essex; Great grandparents: Albert Layton of Port Clinton, OH, Elizabeth Robinson of Manhasset, NY, Betty Lou Corbo of Mineville, NY; Paternal grandparents Wayne and Diane Robinson of Woodbury, CT; Maternal grandparents Jeffrey and Luanne Firlik of Williston, VT; God Mother Aunt Meghan Robinson of Hoboken, NJ; God Father Uncle Thomas and Aunt Naomi Firlik of South Burlington; Uncle Kevin and Aunt Stephanie Robinson and their children Hannah and Noah of Charlotte, MI; and Aunt Melissa Robinson of Arlington, VA. There will be no public visiting hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be con-celebrated by the Reverend Brian Cummings, S.S.E. and Reverend Michael DeForge on Saturday January 15, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Chapel. Interment will be held in the spring at the convenience of the family in the family lot in Fairview Cemetery in Essex Jct.
