Cora L. (Tatro) Holcomb Colchester On July 5th 1924, a beautiful Star Cora Louise was born, a daughter to Max and Sadie (Presby) Tatro, a gift from God, weighing in at only 2 ½ pounds. This beautiful star was a loan from God to us. On February 17, 2011 at 1:45 A.M., Cora went back home to the lord after somewhat of a long illness. Cora was born in Candia, New Hampshire. The family moved to Vermont in her early years. She attended a one room schoolhouse in Underhill Center, which is still standing today. Cora met Archie W Bleau Jr. on an excursion aboard the Ticonderoga in 1943. They were in married in 1945 and had 2 beautiful children. They were happily married for 23 years until Archie suffered a massive heart attack in 1969. Cora had worked at Maternity Inc. (sewing factory) for 20+ years before going to work for IBM. In 1970 she met Ronald L Holcomb and fell in love. They were married in November of 1971. They were married just short of 40 years and had a wonderful and joyous life together. Their love is like a Love Story. She and Ron both retired from I.B.M. in 1987. Crocheting, knitting and sewing were her passion. She also loved going boating and traveling around the country with the grandchildren in their RV. Ron and Cora loved traveling with the children any time they could, up until she could no longer climb the steps. Cora is survived by her wonderful husband Ron Holcomb of Colchester Vt.; Misty Holcomb, her most delightful furry baby kitty. Daughters Judy Desaultels of Johnson, Vt., and Linda Graham of Mallets Bay Colchester, Vt.; Step daughters Kim Longe of Jeffersonville, Vt., and Rhonda Luker, of St Petersburg, Fl. ; 14 Grand Children: Judy’s; Lisa Reed, Jamie Hooper, Ben Savage, Dena Savage, Louise Bissonnette—Linda’s; John Badore, Danika Foster—Kim’s; Josh Longe, Casey Longe—Rhonda’s; Ryan Luker, Jacob Luker, Andrew Luker, Robbie Luker, Nicholas Luker and 16 Great Grandchildren: Lisa’s; Cora Allen, Tamika Allen—Jamie’s; Archie Hooper, Steven Hooper, Marisa Hooper—Ben’s; Mariah Savage, Logan Savage—Dena’s; Terry Maskel, Genavieve Bidwell—Louise’s; Morgan Richardson, Charlotte Latterell, Lael Latterell—Danika’s; Kalik Foster, Elise Bullard, Elijah El—Casey’s; Hazel Longe each and every one captured her heart. Each one had their own special moments with her. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and dear friends. A Memorial Service will be held in honor of Cora “Sweetie” Holcomb at Community Bible Church on Williston Road in South Burlington on Saturday February 26th at 2:00 P.M. Please arrive at the church between 12:30 and 1:00 P.M. to offer condolences and for a brief celebration of Cora’s life and the many lives she has touched along her way. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Cora’s name to the Disabled American Veterans, Attn: Gift Processing, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
