Craig Sampson Fairfax, Vermont Obituary

Craig Sampson

Craig Robert Sampson, III, 19, of Williston passed away on Saturday April 23, 2016 in Beverly, MA as a passenger in a tragic car accident. He was born in Boston, MA on August 19, 1996 son of Craig Robert Sampson, Jr. and Samantha Anne Verner. There aren’t enough words in the dictionary to truly encompass how remarkable Craig was. He made a lasting impression on whomever he met, whether that be as a brother, son, or friend. He had the ability to light up a room within seconds of entering it simply from his infectious smile and goofy jokes. One of his goals in life was to be a positive presence in the lives of everyone he encountered, and he did just that. Whether it was smiling and holding the door for a stranger, or spending hours with a friend in need, Craig was always there to encourage and uplift everyone he came in contact with. He was polite, conversational, disciplined, reliable and kind - a person of integrity with thought-out convictions. Like many others, Craig struggled with internal battles, and sometimes those dictated the decisions he made. However, even in the midst of all his struggles he was still beacon of light for those around him, and the decisions he made in no way defined the person he was. He was refreshingly humble, and was never afraid to display his loving and affectionate personality. Craig had many dreams and aspirations that he would have undoubtedly fulfilled. He had an unwavering work ethic, whether in school or at his job, and that determination was a key element of his personality. He set a very high bar for all the people around him; especially being the eldest of his family. His spirit will be carried on through all the people who knew and loved him. He is survived by his father Craig Robert Sampson, Jr. and partner Chiuho (Christina) Duval, his mother Samantha Nalette and fiancé Karl Usher, his grandparents Frank & Joyce Lopes, Patricia Verner, brothers, Nick, Caleb “C.J.”, Nate, Cole and sister Kinsley Sampson, Aunts & Uncles Richard Petersen, Lana Petersen, Krisa Palmer, Todd Verner, Troy Verner and several cousins. He was predeceased by his grandfather Harry “Bill” Verner. Visiting hours will be held on Friday April 29, 2016 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Essex Alliance Church, 37 Old Stage Rd., Essex Jct., VT 05452. Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 30, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Essex Alliance Church with Pastor Joe Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot in Hinesburg Village Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Craig’s memory maybe made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Red Cross.
