Obituary
Esther C. Ziemski, a former resident of Greene, NY and currently of Jericho, VT died peacefully at The Vermont Respite House with her family by her side on October 15, 2013 at the age of 89. She was born in Webster, MA on April 9, 1924 daughter of the late John and Mary (Mrzyglod) Kasierski. She attended Bartlett High School in Webster, and graduated in 1942. She attended Worcester School of Business and was employed by the American Woolen Company as a billing clerk for 9 years. In 1946, she married her high school sweetheart, Bernard N. Ziemski, her husband of 63 years. In 1951, she moved with her husband to Greene, NY to start a family and a second career. In 1968, she joined the faculty at Greene Central School as a library aide and worked until her retirement in 1986. Esther’s passions included being a grandparent to neighborhood children, arranging flowers, decorating for the seasons and rooting for her favorite sports teams. However, the source of her greatest joy, and her greatest love, was being a mother to her daughter, Jill. Esther leaves her daughter Jill Ziemski and her life partner Lisa McKeithen of Jericho, Vermont and sister Patricia Hylka and brother in law Robert T. Hylka of Dudley, MA She was predeceased by husband Bernard N. Ziemski in August 2010, her sister Virginia White and brother in law Francis White. Esther’s warm smile, generosity and natural ability to make those around her feel at ease will be missed by all those who loved her. It was Esther’s request that there be no calling hours or funeral services. There will be a family gathering for her committal at Saint Joseph Garden of Peace in Webster, MA where she will be buried alongside her late husband.
