Frederick Lawrence “Poppy” Jacques, Jr. South Burlington Frederick Lawrence “Poppy” Jacques, Jr., 67, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington surrounded by his family. Poppy was born March 2, 1947 in Burlington to the late Frederick and Agnes (Zeno) Jacques. Poppy grew up in Huntington, VT he was a hard worker his whole life. He started working on a farm in Charlotte where he met his beloved wife of 47 years Phyllis Havens. Poppy and Phyllis were married in Hinesburg Nov. 5, 1966. He later moved to Burlington where Poppy worked for over 20 years with Green Mt. Power. Poppy enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren watching old western TV shows, the cooking network and listening to his music on the radio. Poppy also loved the family cat “Toby” who he has a special bond with watching TV. Poppy leaves his wife Phyllis Jacques and their children Bonnie Jacques and Becky Jacques and Dawn Duffey, three special grandchildren Dakota, Taylor and Jacob Duffey. His sister Dorothy Little and a brother Lawrence Jacques both of Huntington. He was predeceased by his brother Charlie Jacques. Poppy will always be in our hearts and memories forever. Per Poppy’s wishes there will be no public services held. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with expenses care of Phyllis Jacques, 84 Hinesburg Road, Apt A, South Burlington, VT 05403.
