Gary Vee Comette

Gary V. Comette Cambridge Gary Vee Comette, 63, passed away at his home in Cambridge on Wednesday December 17, 2014. He was born in Randolph on May 8, 1951 son of the late Bernard and Arlene (Flint) Comette. Gary graduated from Randolph Union High School in 1971. He was drafted to the United States Air Force, serving from 1971-1975, was stationed in both Colorado and Idaho, and served tours in Guam and Thailand. Gary returned to Vermont in 1975 where he worked at General Electric/Martin Marietta/Lockheed Martin/General Dynamics until retirement in 1999. Gary was an avid gun collector and outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting and fishing year round and cherished being in nature. Gary married the love of his life, Sue, on April 23, 1992. They shared a fun-loving relationship steeped in respect and honesty, and everyone who knows them knows their story is the epitome of true love. While Gary had many interests and talents like cooking, woodworking, and gardening, he loved spending time with children and served as a volunteer youth skeet shooting instructor. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, whether it was teaching about sportsmanship, telling stories, or playing a practical joke. Gary had a big heart and would go out of his way to help anyone. He was creative, honest, expressive, and hardworking. He is loved by so many and will truly be missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years Suzan (Cross) Fletcher Comette of Cambridge; his son Anthony Fletcher and wife Lisa of Richmond; his daughters Michele Comette and husband Charles Garrapy of Milton; Emily French and husband Cris French of Georgia; his brother Larry Comette and wife Nancy of Fairfax; sisters Debbie Berry and husband Jim of Randolph; Tami Comette of Old Orchard Beach, ME; six grandchildren Brandyn; Criss; Brady; Brianna; Carter and Taylor; his Aunt Mildred Warren of Fairfax; special friend Carl Jones of Fairfax; several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday December 21, 2014 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at A W Rich Funeral Home – Fairfax, Chapel, 1176 Main St. Fairfax, VT 05454. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday December 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Angels Church in St. Albans with Reverend Maurice Roy officiating. Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
