George Giddings

George W. Giddings Hyde Park George William Giddings, 90, died peacefully in his sleep on April 28, 2012 at the Copley Manor in Morrisville after a brief illness. He was born in Cambridge, VT July 28, 1921 son of the late Clarence G. and Mary (Sweet) Giddings. He is survived by two sisters, Beth Marcher of Jeffersonville, Marlyne Randall of Inwood, WV, one brother Carl Giddings and wife Pam of Ocala, FL, several nieces and nephews, three sisters-in-law, Marion, Maybell, and Carol Locke. He was predeceased by his wife Edwinna (Locke) Giddings, his brother Clarence Jr. two brothers-in-law Earl Marcher, George Randall and a special friend Marion Griffin. George was a farmer for many years, worked as a mechanic for Ken Davis in Waterville and he retired after approximately 20 years as a grader operator with the Vermont Department of Transportation. The family would like to thank Dr. Southall and the entire staff at the Manor, his three special friends, Wayne and Jane Tallman and Ken Deuso for all the help they gave to George and for the loving support they all provided. A special thanks to his niece Christa Lyman for the wonderful, loving care she gave him in his final days. A graveside service will be held with inurnment in the family lot on Saturday, May 5th, 2012 at 1 pm at Mountain View Cemetery, Waterville, VT.
