Henry Arthur Emmons, Jr., 51, of Starksboro, passed away surrounded by family following a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, April 19, 2017. He was born on September 27, 1965, son of Henry and Linda (Pierce) Emmons Sr. Born in Burlington, Henry grew up in Starksboro. He graduated from Mount Abraham Union High School in 1983, and graduated Wyoming Technical Institute in 1984. Following school, Henry was an auto mechanic for 25 years. Henry spent his adult life with his wife Angela, two daughters, and loving pets in their family home in Starksboro; a home built by him, his wife, and many family and friends. Henry most enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with family, and sugaring at the family farm—Red Rock Valley Maple Farm. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years Angela Emmons, two daughters, Kasey and Jordan Emmons, his parents Henry and Linda Emmons Sr., his siblings and their spouses; Samantha and Shawn Quinn, Vickie and Steve LaRocque, Caulie Emmons and partner Tammy, Jennifer and Jim Martin, his mother-in-law and father-in-law Frederick and Alberta Wedge, sisters-in-law and their spouses; Tammy and Lawrence Phillips, Carla and Peter Purinton, Melissa and Anthony Kidd, his good friend and hunting buddy Larry Haskins, several nieces, nephews, cousins and his two special companions Stella and Harper. Henry was predeceased by his grandparents Earl and Mary Emmons Sr., and Daniel and Isabelle Pierce. The family would like to thank all those that were able to share in Henry’s life and for creating memories we can all forever cherish. They also wish to thank the McClure Miller VNA Respite House for their unwavering kindness, compassion, and care. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday April 27, 2017 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at A W Rich Funeral Home – Essex Chapel, 57 Main Street, Essex Junction, VT 05452. A memorial service will be held on Friday April 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at First Congregational Church, Essex Junction. Reception to follow at the Champlain Valley Exposition, Blue Ribbon Pavilion. Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in Henry’s name may be made to the McClure Miller VNA Respite House.
