Jean Pike Bing was born in Cabot, Vermont, May 10, 1928. She was raised by farming parents, Carroll and Harriet, with her sister, Marjorie. Jean passed away peacefully at her home in Williston, VT on June 13, 2020. Jean Pike moved to Burlington, Vermont at age 18, to attend the school of business in the secretarial program at Champlain College. She went to work at the New England Telephone Company and later met and married Robert Bing. Together they had three boys: Daniel, Brian and Randal. Jean suspended her career to raise the three boys and then went back when they were teenagers. She stayed long enough to bridge her time and retired from the company, which at that time, was called Bell Atlantic, now is called Verizon. Jean enjoyed reading, doing crosswords puzzles and playing Mahjong among other hobbies. She enjoyed her many friends from Church and various organizations that she has been involved with. She is loved for her warm spirit, can-do attitude and generous nature. She is survived by Marjorie, Robert, her three boys and her Grandson, Jason. Jean and the family would like to thank the UVM Home Health team for their amazing and tender care and all her friends that made meals, sent cards and poured love over the family in these last several months.
