Joyce Marie Gauthier

Joyce M. (Muir) Gauthier Williston Joyce Marie (Muir) Gauthier, 82 passed away on Monday April 22, 2013 surrounded by her loving family at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington. She was born in Burlington on February 21, 1931 daughter of the late Howard and Ruth (Coray Bombard) Muir. She worked at Lavallee & Ide in Winooski for 36 years, retiring in 2002. Upon her retirement she enjoyed watching the birds at their feeders, attending church suppers, taking day trips and time with family especially at the holidays. She was also an avid reader especially of biographies. Being surrounded by her family brought her the greatest joy of all. Joyce will be dearly missed by all those who truly knew and loved her. She is survived by her children: Susan Yandow and husband Arthur of Williston; Wilfred Gauthier, Jr. and wife Deborah of White River; Mark Gauthier of California; Linda Foster and husband Steven of Colchester; Nancy Scribner and husband Stephen of Cabot; David Gauthier and wife Lynn of Westford; Raymond Gauthier of California; Michael Gauthier of Williston; nine grandchildren Peggy, Nicholas, Rebecca, Shasta, Tammy, Melissa “Missy”, Eric, Justin, Sara; several great grandchildren and nephews. She is also survived by special cousins Julia Szakel, Mary Ferrell and husband “Jay”, Harold “Pick” Bombard and his wife Phyllis; a brother-in-law Bob Ludwick and extended family members. She was also predeceased by her son Steven, daughter Donna Gauthier and her only sister Margaret Ludwick. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday April 24, 2013 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at A. W. Rich Funeral Home – Essex Chapel, 57 Main Street, Essex Jct., VT 05452. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday April 25, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Essex Jct. with the Reverend Charles Ranges, S.S.E. officiating. Burial will follow in the family lot in St. Stephen Cemetery, Colchester. Memorial contributions in Joyce’s memory may be made by visiting www.specialolympicsvermont.org.
