Julian Goodrich

Julian W. Goodrich Shelburne Julian Wayne “Goody” Goodrich, 88 passed away at the Vermont Respite House in Williston late Wednesday September 29, 2010. He was born in Montpelier, VT on June 2, 1922 son of the late Julian and Helen (Rile) Goodrich. Julian was proud to have served his country during World War II with the US Navy in the Pacific Theater. After graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design; he moved to the Burlington area where he practiced architecture for over 60 years. He enjoyed golfing with friends, sailing on Lake Champlain and hunting with his brother Robert. He is survived by his wife Nancy (Holden) Goodrich and her children: Lisa Echo and her husband Kurt and their family; Alison Mayo and her family; and Mark Holden and wife Debra. He is also survived by his daughter Carolyn Young and husband Mark; Two Grandchildren, Eric Carter and wife Lauren and their children Declan and Sylvia; Todd Carter and wife Sherry and their children Zachery and Kailyn. He will be greatly missed by his twin brother John Goodrich and wife Ruth and several nieces and nephews. He is also predeceased by his wife of many years Patricia (Holland) Goodrich, his brother Robert Goodrich; his sisters Helen Tynan and Virginia Fahey. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday October 3, 2010 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at A. W. Rich Funeral Home – Essex Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Monday October, 4, 2010 at Trinity Episcopal Church, Shelburne at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Craig Smith officiating; a brief reception will follow. Interment in the family lot will be private at St. Augustine’s Cemetery in Montpelier. Memorial contributions in Julian’s memory may be made to Vermont Respite House, 99 Allen Brook Lane, Williston, VT 05495. Arrangements are by John D. Workman, A. W.
