Kathy MacDonald Obituary

Kathy Jean (Mesick) MacDonald, 71, of Claremont, NH, passed away on October 23, 2019 from cancer, at her daughter's home in Island Pond, Vermont. She was born in Chatham, NY, on February 8, 1948, the daughter of John Mesick and Marilyn (Williams) Mesick. She grew up in Spencertown, NY, and graduated Chatham High School, class of 1965. Kathy -- nicknamed Kit -- was the proud and devoted mother of five children. She is survived by: Daughter Amy Coyle, her partner Chad Hayden, and grandson Declan, of Island Pond, Vermont; Son Dwight Coyle, his wife Sarah (Plummer), and grandchildren Lydia, Jasher, Silas, and Eleanora, of Steep Falls, Maine; Son Andrew Coyle, his partner Mary Graham, and grandchildren Alivia and Ignis, of Carbondale, Pennsylvania; and son Donald Coyle and his partner Becky Mailhot, of Claremont, New Hampshire. She was predeceased by daughter Alivia Coyle, in 2005. Kathy traveled and lived all over the U.S. during her life. She has lived in Albany, NY, Provo, UT, San Diego, CA, and Yakima, WA, as well as traversing the country several times by car. She was married to Steve Morrey, of Salt Lake City, Utah, from 1968 to 1979. He remained her good friend, and was especially important to her during the last several years of her life. Kathy was married to Rodney Coyle, of Yakima, Washington, from 1980 to 1999, and with whom she had her five children. Many who knew Kathy would describe her as one of the most kind, sweet, selfless people they’ve ever met. She always had a smile for others. She was also a sensitive soul, with compassion for those who were suffering. Also important to Kathy throughout her life was her faith in Jesus Christ, and belief in God. In her last several years of life, Kathy lived in a cozy apartment overlooking the Sugar River in Claremont, both of which she loved. She had always enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and crafting, and some of her final projects were "rag rugs," made from old t-shirts. Special thanks go to Kathy's good friends Don Fitzgerald, Mike Pickering, and Roxene Conroy of Claremont and Charlestown, NH, for their care and support to her in her final months. Private services will be held at the convenience of her close family and friends. Condolences and memories may be shared online at awrfh.com.
