Louise Racine Obituary

Louise (Perras) Racine, 74, of Williston, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington. She was born on December 20, 1941 in Burlington daughter of the late Domina and Emelia (Menard) Perras. Louise was a graduate of Rice Memorial High School and later went on to serve with Sisters of Mercy Convent. She left the convent and met Marcel Racine who she married and settled down in Winooski to raise a family with. Louise was a vivid member of the community and was known and loved by so many. Always a hard worker, she was employed by General Electric for 25+ years and then went on to work for Bio-Tek. Louise was happiest surrounded by friends and family and took pride in attending all of her children’s events. She was always willing to lend a hand, donate a meal, and you could count on a big box of baked goods around the holidays. A great friend to many and those that were in her heart became family not just friends. Louise’s love of family first was made even more real with the birth of her grandchildren. She loved being a Grandma to Leif, Avery and her baby girl Jordan. Louise was always quick with a laugh and a joke and had an infectious smile that will be missed every day. She is survived by her husband Marcel Racine of Williston, her son Todd Racine and wife Kerri of South Burlington, two daughters Tammie Racine of Schenectady, NY, Tanya Mitchinson and husband Toby of Swanton, her twin brother Louis Perras and wife Kaye of CA, 3 sisters Theresa Alexander of Burlington, Yvonne Sanderson and husband Conrad of Milton, Helen Phenix and husband Maurice of Essex, 3 grandchildren Leif Mitchinson, Avery Mitchinson and Jordan Racine, several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her brother Andrew Perras and sister Lucille Perras. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at A W Rich Funeral Home – Essex Chapel, 57 Main Street, Essex Junction, VT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday November 4, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church in Winooski with Monsignor Richard Lavalley officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Society, American Cancer Society and the Alzheimers Association.
