Marguerite Ledoux Obituary

Marguerite M. (Mason) Ledoux Burlington Marguerite Mary (Mason) Ledoux, 85, joined her heavenly Father on Monday November 15, 2010. She was born on March 10, 1925 in Manchester, NH daughter of the late William and Gladys (Brown) Mason. Marge was raised a good Catholic girl who was determined to become a nun until she met Bill Ledoux. Bill was an outgoing, fun loving guy who knew that Marge was “The One” as soon as he took her in his arms to dance. Marge would have been a wonderful nun but her true calling was to be an amazing mother to her five daughters. The greatest gift she bestowed on her children is what it means to love unconditionally. She opened her home to other children who needed a place to stay for months on end. She loved movies and glamorous movie stars and took such good care of her skin that at 85 years old her face looked decades younger than she was. When Marge was 46 years old, she and Bill found out that they were expecting their 5th child. Many of their friends were horrified that Marge would have to go through a pregnancy at that age, but Marge was thrilled and loved every minute. She was known for her beautiful smile and was rarely seen without it. Our home was always filled with laughter, love and the beautiful sound of Mom's operatic voice. She was a great friend and confidante and someone you could always depend on. She chose to see the best in everyone. What an amazing role model she was to family, friends and even strangers. She welcomed her four sons-in-law into the family with open arms and was proud of each one of them. She enthusiastically watched her three grandsons grow to be kind, funny and talented young men. She truly appreciated the life she had and her family will always be grateful for the life she gave us. She is survived by: Her daughters; Robyn Ledoux of South Burlington, VT; Aleta Sweeney and husband Ron of Burlington, VT; Kim Ledoux Conley and husband Jerry of Malibu, CA; Tracy Carle of Green Cove Springs, FL; Kristin (Kissey) Delaney and husband Shawn of Snohomish, WA; Her grandsons: Matthew Sweeney of San Francisco, CA; Brian Sweeney of Jericho, VT; Chase Carle and wife Hannah of Oceanside, CA; Her beloved sister Eileen Stetson and nephew Michael Radcliffe and wife Kathleen all of NH. She was predeceased by her husband William Ledoux (the love of her life) in 1992 and her son-in-law Klay Carle in 2004. The family would like to give very special thanks to Dr. Melissa Brandes for her compassionate care. Mom thought the world of you – and we do too! Thanks also to the wonderful staff at Starr Farm Rehab and Nursing Home and St. Joseph’s Residential Care Home. There will be no public visiting hours or funeral services held. A celebration of Marge’s life will be held in the Spring. If you would like to honor Marge's memory, please consider befriending a resident in a local nursing home. Arrangements are by John D.
