Maurice Page Marsh Obituary

M. PAGE MARSH
AGE 83 • CAMBRIDGE

M. Page Marsh, Jr., 83, of Cambridge, VT, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 14, 2015 after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Appropriately it was on the first day of deer hunting, as he so loved to track deer. Often he would say they are much smarter than we give them credit for, as he always considered this a challenge.
Page was born in Colchester, VT on October 2, 1932, the second of four boys to the late Maurice Page Marsh, Sr. and Abbie (Learned) Marsh.
He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1950, and as he would tell you, graduated from college in a few months, realizing that farming was his passion, not book learning.
It was at the drinking fountain in the high school hallway that he asked Roberta Stockwell for a date which eventually turned into a marriage lasting 63 wonderful years.
Page is survived by his beloved wife, Roberta; five children, Diana (Tom Osland) Marsh, Jeffrey (Mary) Marsh, Darla (Greg) Heyer, Jay (Avis) Marsh, and Jerry Marsh; thirteen grandchildren, Tyler and Brittany, Jamie, Casey, Bobbi, and Brian, Jessie and Aaron, Cody, Brady, and Travis, and Justin and Nicholas; and nine great-grandchildren, Michael, Jade, and Chauncey, Ryan, Brandon, and Bryce, Kendra and Morgan, and Ayla.
He is also survived by his brothers John (Barbara) Marsh, Rex (Delores) Marsh, and Danny (Wanda) Marsh, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Page’s loving nature made family and friends so appreciative and blessed for knowing him and heartbroken when losing him.
We want to thank Lamoille Home Health and Hospice for their care and support during Page’s last days.
There will be no calling hours or service, but we will host a celebration of Page’s life in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Page’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Vermont, 300 Cornerstone Drive, Williston, VT 05495 or at alz.org/vermont. Condolences may be shared with the family at awrfh.com.
