Michael Andrew Egri, “Computer Mike” formerly of Toronto passed away suddenly in Burlington, Vermont on August 2, 2011 following heart surgery. He was the beloved father of Alexis and Cory, husband of Linda Hartwell, former husband to the mother of his children Christine Murphy, Beloved brother of Gabe, and his wife Livia, Dear Uncle to Paul and Valerie and cherished adopted sister Judith Gelberger and her husband Peter and their children Leslie and Eva and 21 other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by parents George and Yvonne Egri. He is also mourned by his step-mother Edith and family in Hungary. In 1956 Michael’s parents, older brother, and he immigrated from Budapest Hungary to Toronto Ontario Canada. Although he and his family enjoyed traveling abroad extensively, Michael lived and studied at George Brown University in Toronto until he met and married his wife Christine, of Montpelier, Vermont. In 1979 Michael and Christine moved to VT, where Michael graduated from Champlain College, as a Programmer / Systems Analyst. His first job after graduation, was at National Life of Vermont. Later he and his family moved to Ft. Myers, FL for several years. They would return to the Burlington area where Michael founded and was the sole proprietor of Computer Rescue Squad, which became an established computer systems and repair shop in Burlington. Michael loved working hard at problem solving, often working 24 hours a day, to meet a deadline. Michael adored his children and loved spending time with them at their favorite place, Oakledge Park, with their dog “Sam”. “Sam” was his loyal dog and longtime companion. He will also be missed by his many close friends including Sandra O’Hora, Christie Delphia, Linda Dawson, Sandra Cuthbert, Sue Stiasney, Maureen Bell, Bryan Paskovitch and others too numerous to name. Michael will be missed by us all so very much. A sunset celebration of his life, will be held on August 24, 2011 from 6:30 – 8:30 pm at Oakledge Park in Burlington.
