Michael Lee Scott, 62, resident of Saranac Lake, New York (former resident of Tivoli, NY) passed away on Monday, March 3, 2014 in Burlington, Vermont. He was born on August 23, 1951 to Ellamae Ann Salatti and Gilbert Edward Scott in Aberdeen, Maryland. He was a graduate of Solvay High School in Syracuse, New York and the Culinary Institute of America in New Haven, Connecticut. He had a career working in retail and the restaurant industry. He was a writer who enjoyed writing science fiction novels. Michael enjoyed camping, fishing, music, movies, and playing games. He was an animal lover and enjoyed the company of his pets and those of his daughter Michelle. He loved a good meal with family and friends. He laughed often and made others feel happy no matter the circumstance. Michael was a devoted Freemason and member of the Masonic Fraternity, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, The Knights Templar, and the Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine. Michael Lee Scott is survived by his beloved partner Debra Bootie, his pets Ziva, Elvira, and Lula, his daughters Michelle L. Young and Heather Scott, son-in-law Frederick J. Young, grandsons Ian Alexander Anderson, Zachary Hunter Anderson, former wife Judith A. Scott, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his mother and father. A Masonic Ceremony, Eastern Star Ceremony, and Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2014 beginning at 10:30 am with a luncheon at noon at the Monumental Masonic Lodge #374, 7 North Road, Tivoli, New York 12583.
