Nancy Lawrence

Nancy Rock Lawrence, 69, of Burlington, Vermont passed away February 4, 2013. She was born November 19, 1943 in Holyoke, MA. She is the daughter of the late Lester Rock and Helen Karwoski Rock. She graduated South Hadley High School, class of 1961. She is predeceased by her husband, John W. Lawrence III. She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl & Dean Lawrence-Fullerton, of Milton, VT; her son, John & Janice Lawrence, of Milton, VT; her grand-daughters, Corina and Jocelyn Lawrence, of Milton, VT. She also leaves behind her sister, Elaine (Bob) Hill, as well as, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is predeceased by her sister, Carol (Ben) Penney, of Clifton Park, NY. She had a strong banking background, and later in life, went to the New England School of Travel, followed by a short career as a travel agent. She considered her greatest accomplishment to be her family. She led her children’s brownie and cub scout groups, and chaperoned many field trips in their childhood. She was proud of all her children, all professionals within their fields: her daughter, formerly in social services, currently a technician; her son-in-law in policing; her son in the VTANG, with several deployments; her daughter-in-law in nursing. She was also proud of her grand-daughters, both of who are dynamic and strong individuals; Corina, recently established a quidditch club at her school, and aspires in engineering; Jocelyn, was recently published in a collection of poetry, and aspires to be a photojournalist. Later in life, she enjoyed spending time with her grand-daughters, baking, cooking, and crafting, and never tired of family time. She loved walks on the beach and snuggles with her "furries" (furry grandkids), and in her retirement, she enjoyed reading, connecting with old friends, Monday night bingo, meatball subs, and lattes at one of three local Starbucks. She was a gracious, kind, person, who touched the lives of all she knew. She was rich in love and happiness, and filled the hearts of many with her warmth and smile. A celebration of her life is being planned for the spring. Those desiring can make memorial contributions to the American Heart Association, Vermont Chapter Inc. 434 Hurricane Lane, Williston, VT 05495. Moments The little things, The silly things, The things we pass daily. A photograph, A flower, She always said "Take a moment to desire." With gentle eyes, An amused smile. Her words soft, But heavy with value. Her love immense, Pride filled to the brim She never left without saying "I love you." by Jocelyn Lawrence
