Patricia McCurdy

Patricia A (Buckley) McCurdy Jeffersonville Patricia Ann (Buckley) McCurdy, 77 passed away on Thursday January 31, 2013 at her home in Jeffersonville surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Watertown, MA on August 27, 1935 daughter of the late Joseph and Marian (Waters) Buckley. Patricia loved to be surrounded by music, laughter, and family especially her grandchildren who put an extra sparkle in her eyes. Patricia was from a very musical family. Her mother played various instruments by ear, and had a war song composed in WWI. Patricia and her sister sang on a weekly radio show in Boston. She had a love for Politics and Social Equality and over the years volunteered numerous hours for charitable organizations. Patricia and her husband Edward retired to Vermont in 2000 to be closer to their two grandchildren. Here she performed with her granddaughter in the Sound of Music. She joined the chorale and had her weekly cup of coffee with her close friends. For only being in Jeff a short time she acquired friends and neighbors she couldn’t live without. Patricia is survived by her son Edward John McCurdy, Jr. of MA; her daughters Kathyann McCurdy of TX; Karen Anne Machia and husband Dana of Jeffersonville; a sister Joan Sama of WI; two grandchildren: Tyler Edward Machia and Cassandra Anne Machia; and loving neighbors: Rose and Denis Arguin. She was also predeceased by her husband Edward John McCurdy, Sr. Per Patricia’s wishes there will be no public visiting hours held. A funeral services will be held on Tuesday February 5th at 11:00 a.m. at the Second Congregational Church in Jeffersonville with Reverend Michael Ford officiating.
