Patrick Fitzgerald

Patrick Fitzgerald of Burlington Vermont passed away at Vermont Respite House Friday morning April 26, 2013 after a long courageous battle with cancer. Throughout his ordeal with his illness Patrick kept strong in his Christian faith and fought for his life without complaint. Many thanks to the Doctors and Nurses of Fletcher Allen and of Vermont Respite House who were all struck by his brave sweet spirit. Patrick was born July 23, 1965 in Boston Mass. to parents, Robert W. Fitzgerald Sr. and Ellen T. Fitzgerald(Looby) He was predeceased by his Father Robert W. Fitzgerald Sr. Patrick is survived by his Mother Ellen T. Fitzgerald of Quincy, Brother Robert W. Fitzgerald of Rouses Point, NY, Brother Joseph A. Fitzgerald of Quincy Ma., Brother Daniel P. Fitzgerald of Shapleigh Me., his Sister Theresa Fitzgerald of Taunton Ma., and his nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his friend Jennifer Nolan. Patrick lived with a form of autism throughout his life. He was an encyclopedia of music, film, theology, and popular culture trivia. Patrick resided in Burlington since 2005 and volunteered for many local charities in the area. He had a desire to serve his community. Patrick loved being part of Faith Baptist Church in Winooski, VT. Many thanks to all who visited and ministered to him during his illness. We will all miss this sweet gentle soul. Per Patrick’s wishes no visiting hours will be held. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday May 1, 2013 at 5:30 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 28 Platt Street, Winooski, VT.
