Richard Charland

Richard G. Charland Colchester Richard George Charland, 66 passed away on Monday December 5, 2011 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington. He was born in Springfield, MA on October 6, 1945 son of the late Edward and Yvonne (Labossier) Charland. Richard was proud to have served our country in the U.S. Army. Richard loved to bowl on Sunday nights with Elaine and their team. He cherished spending time with his grandchildren from watching his granddaughters play sports at CHS to helping with his grandsons in Boy Scouts. He even went down to Georgia and spent a week at Boy Scout camp. Last but not least he loved his Shriners. He looked forward to their monthly meetings and driving their little cars. He is survived by: His loving wife of 48 years, Elaine (Bouchard) Charland of Colchester; his son Shon Charland and wife Vicki of Canton, GA; a daughter Michelle Chapman and husband Phillip of Colchester, a brother Ronald Charland and wife Clemence of MA; his sister Luanne Thibault and husband Dave of ME; four grandchildren: Allyson and Kristina Chapman, Brandon and Dylan Charland; several nieces, nephews, cousins and brothers and sisters in laws, his close and faithful companion “Coco”. He was also predeceased by his sister Susan. Visiting hours will be held on Friday December 9, 2011 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at A. W. Rich Funeral Home – Essex Chapel. Inurnment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
