Richard M. Hover Jeffersonville Richard Milton Hover, 77, passed away after a long battle with cancer on Wednesday November 5, 2014 at Vermont Respite House in Williston with his loving family by his side. He was born on October 4, 1937 in Warren, Ohio son of the late Vernon E. Hover, Sr. and Lena (Grubham) Hover. He is a graduate of Eastern Nazarene College and Nazarene Theological Seminary. He was a man of many gifts. He served as a pastor, counselor, teacher, antique dealer, carpenter, fine woodworker and jack of all trades. He loved to collect vintage toys, trains and telegraph equipment. He liked to start his mornings with a treat from The Cupboard Deli, and enjoyed his daily chats with Jon, Tammie and friends in the Rewind Time to 1829 antique shop. He is survived by his four daughters: Lorenda Dunham and husband Michael; Marne Lopez and husband Rich; Cynthia Rearick and husband Jim; Melissa Towle and husband Christopher; Twelve grandchildren: Emily Asper and husband Steffan, Mitchel, Chelsea and Abigail Dunham, Isabella and Henry Manchester, Jordan, Kayla and Madison Rearick; Bailey, Bodey and Braeden Towle (aka The Killer B’s); three great grandchildren Bryce, Jeremiah and Samantha Asper; his sisters and brothers-in-laws: Merilyn Clinger; Alan Manchester and wife Christine; Jean Hook and husband Dick; Rhoda Mingledorff and husband Dale; George Manchester and wife Brenda; C.J. Manchester and wife Sharon; his niece Sherry Meyers and husband James; his great nieces: Connie Smith and husband Gary; Nancy Limon and husband Michael. He was also predeceased by his wife Carolyn and his siblings Florence “Sis” Harvey and Vernon Hover and his wife Charlotte. We would like to express our gratitude to Dr. Donald Miller for decades of excellent healthcare and genuine friendship. A special thank you to all the staff and volunteers at the Vermont Respite House for their care during his final days. Thank you to Jon and Tammie Currier for years of friendship and loving care. Including delicious meals, hours of help on innumerable projects and for treating him like a member of their family. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday November 9, 2014 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Lamoille Valley Church of the Nazarene. Funeral services will be held on Monday November 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Lamoille Valley Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow in the family lot in Mountain View Cemetery, Waterville.
